GETTING THERE
By car
Head towards Bristol and the M5, then follow the M5 into the south west.
Turn off the M5 at junction 27 along the A361. Follow this road to
Barnstaple and either continue to follow it through Barnstaple and out the
other side or go via the Taw Bridge following signposts for Ilfracombe and
Woolacombe. You will pass through Braunton and Knowle before reaching a
roundabout where you can either go straight across to Ilfracombe or turn
left to Woolacombe and Mortehoe.
Turn left and follow the signs for Mortehoe, after a sharp right hand turn
(with a pink house on your left) there is a turning to Mortehoe on your
right hand side. Take this turning and follow the road to Mortehoe. You will
pass though Mortehoe village, past the Smugglers Rest, the Ship Aground and
finally the Chichester pubs, then you will start heading down the hill
towards Woolacombe. Almost immediately on your left hand side and opposite
the converted chapel is a terrace of cottages set back from the road this is
Adas Terrace. No 6 has a purple door.
There are a number of alternative scenic routes e.g. via the A39 (Minehead
and Lynton) which you may want to try instead. Also, remember that there is
a 24hr Tescos in Barnstaple and another Tescos in Ilfracombe, which you may
want to stop at on your way to stock up for your visit - although should you
forget anything then you should be able to find it in Mortehoe or Woolacombe.

By train / bus
Trains and buses all go to Barnstaple and they normally come via Exeter. You
can then catch either a bus or a taxi from Barnstaple to Mortehoe which
should take 25 / 30 minutes.
Arriving
It is fine to unpack the car when you arrive either in front of the house or
at the end of the garden. Parking is in the village car park at the start of
the village opposite the post office it is a short walk back either along
the road or can be done through the fields at the back of the house. You can
buy 24 hour tickets for your car from the machine or week passes from the
Heritage Centre just off the car park.
